Shutters & Blinds

Shutters are the classic window covering that brings architectural elements, flair, and craftsmanship to your home.

While all other window treatments have their time as popular, then not so famous, and then popular again (if you have been around long enough), shutters are timeless. Shutters will fit into your traditional, modern, or transitional interiors or whatever you imagine. The unmatched look of shutters is very versatile.

You don't have to worry about shutters having their time of less popularity, which is excellent because quality shutters last a very long time. Shutters come in 2 basic types.

  1. Hardwood Shutters
  2. Faux Composite Material Shutters

Each has pros and cons, like everything else in our world of many choices! Each type has a ton of color and stain options.

Higher-end shutters are made with hardwoods and then painted or stained. Some companies will also paint your shutters the specific paint color you request. Modern coatings and paints are also becoming more robust and longer lasting, so you don't have to worry about the finish cracking and flaking off any time soon, like shutters from previous generations.

New composite materials have no coating and are so durable you can hang them in a shower or other wet area. Composites are "dimensionally stable," so they won't warp like wood can (not that you have to worry about hardwood high-end shutters warping). You may be surprised to find out just how many showers in Atlanta have a window in them. Composite shutters are the perfect solution for these windows, which were some architect's great idea.

Another improvement over past shutters is the craftsmanship and materials that have allowed manufacturers to make larger and larger single-panel shutters. It is the opposite of the old-fashioned shutters with tiny 1" louvers and double-hung doors on a single window. You get a much cleaner look with 4" louvers and a pair of doors for a large window. More hygienic, less moving parts, less texture, and more view.

Tried , Tested , and True

Blinds are the primary window covering that has been used for generations. While the design and function of blinds have mostly stayed the same over the years, the colors, styles, and options available have become many. Some blinds have louvers resembling alligator skin, leather, or natural woven fabrics. There is more to look at in this category than you may realize.

Blinds now come cordless or motorized. So why wait? Get your alligator skin and remote control blinds today. You will be the envy of your neighbors!
